You have seen it in movies and on TV and in the news: people selling their blogs, making them into books, making them into movies, and in general just making money off the internet through blogging. And now you are interested too!

After that, it involves tweaking, repeating steps 2) and 3) to continue to build that business. Eventually you can even duplicate the above steps for a different product which then will provide you with multiple online streams of income. As an example your first business could be selling dog training manuals. After that is running smoothly you can use the exact same process to establish an online business selling women’s handbags.

Most internet marketers establish these sites using blogs. They are not always used in the traditional sense of online journaling, but blogging provides a great way to manage content and add content. The blogging software does not care if you are voicing personal opinions or providing product reviews which is why blogging is an effective way to make money online.

To make money blogging, you still need something to sell. The two choices of product selling are pretty straightforward: sell an actual product or sell yourself as a product.

To sell an actual product we would call that a Niche Blog or Product Blog.

To sell yourself as a product this would actually be a Personal Blog.

Both types of blogs, Niche/Product Blog and Personal Blog, fit into the above three steps very easily.

Personal Blog.

Here is how your three steps would pan out:

1. Find something to blog about. This could be a specific niche (e.g. dog training), or it could be many different niches: whatever you want to express your opinion about. One day it could be about various high definition TVs, the next day it could be about baby

2. Blog about it. This is building your online presence.

3. Get traffic to your blog. This involves getting out on the internet links back to your blog, or what we internet marketers call backlink building. If there are no links on the internet to your blog, people cannot find your blog. The more backlinks and wider variety of backlinks you can build, the better. (And that is a topic for another article).

Niche Blog

Here is how your three steps would pan out:

1. Find a niche you want your blog to be about (e.g. dog training) and decide on a product later, OR find a product you want to sell and that will determine the niche your blog will be about.

2. Find topics in your niche (e.g. how to potty train a dog) and blog about it. You should write many articles about one topic as well as find many topics to write about. Having a variety will build a great online presence

3. Drive traffic to your blog site. This involves backlink building, similar to what was discussed above. The more links and the wider variety of links the better. Plus if you can get links from sites specific to your niche, that will be powerful too

With either blog model, you can make money from your blogs in various ways. If you have the traffic, the opportunities open up to you. You can monetize your blog with adspace, google adsense ads, and donations. You can also plug various affiliate products in your blog as well where you make a commission off of each sale.

In a Personal Blog model, the affiliate product would be about that specific post. So if you post about a external hard drive you just purchased, include a link for it.

In a Niche Blog model, people will even expect you to put links in to products related to that niche. If your niche is “dog training”, then why wouldn’t you have an ad or a link to your favorite dog training book for sale?

These three steps is really all there is to make money blogging, or to make money on the internet for that matter. It is a simple concept. The deployment itself is not complicated, it is just a lot of time and work and can be quite tedious.

However, in concept and even in deployment it is easy to understand, and I hope that this article has given you insight that anyone and everyone has the potential to make money online and make money blogging.
